NEW CAD/CAM SOFWARE CHARLYGRAAL®V5 : OPTIMIZATION AND SIMPLIFICATION

Faithful to its on-going innovation policy, Charlyrobot markets the  new version of its CAD/CAM software called Charlygraal®.

For more than 20 years, this software named charlyGRAAL®V5 has been  the result of Charlyrobot commitment close to manufacturers who wish to design and realise simply and quickly 2D and 3D parts whatever they are prototypes, mass-product or tooling .

This software experiences some sensitive evolutions.

First of all, charlyGRAAL®V5 owns an incorporate interface.

CAD, 2D CAM and 3D CAM data are now merged and saved in one file.

The machining follows automatically any adjustment on plans; the machining is readily associated with the designs.

In addition to the usual CAM machining mode of creation, Charlygraal®V5 allows to associate a machining type to each plan (or tracings) of the designs, that simplifies repetitive or similar works.

The 3D curve drawings function is very convenient to do the finishing on thermoformed products. It allows also cuttings on products with machining inclined plane.

A new tool box and equipment  allows the management of truncated conic tools and  thoric milling tools. Its saving and exportation have been extremely simplified.

As for engraving applications, the user can now modify texts, their size or their font, in one click.

These are automatically set up in respect to a justification point.

Moreover this software owns a new module that generates automatically plates of labels with possibility to import texts from a spread sheet or a word processor.

CharlyGRAAL fifth version includes so many news and improvements we can not all detail here.

Let’s quote randomly the new import of formats (IGES for 3D machining, DXF for 2D, Excellon for electronic drilling), the  machining rerun from a given point, the possibility to name over different tracings, or the multi-users with Windows XP and XP Pro.

Obviously Charlygraal®V5 gives all its power with the new range of Charlyrobot compact CRU milling machines range.

With Charlygraal®V5 Charlyrobot is once again able to offer a real 2D/3D machining solution among the simplest and the most economical ones on the market.

This version matches totally with the previous versions as well as with the already installed Charlyrobot milling machines in order to allow equipment improvements.Data sheet

An economical solution for medium format machining

Charlyrobot divulges its new CNC milling machine, the CR40/1500.

This milling machine offers an important machining surface of 1520 x 1020 mm and a feedrate up to 6 meters per minute.

Supplied with a high frequency spindle and a driver software the CR40/1500 is without doubt the most economical cutting and medium format engraving solution on the market.

And for the same price, its 280mm travel in Z gives you access to 3D creations.

The numerous available options make the CR40/1500 a particularly versatile equipment.

On top of the high frequency spindles with an automatic tool changer we can quote the vacuum table which allows to maintain the parts without clamping, the micro-lubricant allowing to gain a better quality of surface and to make the life of tools longer for the machining of non-ferrous metals.

The CR40/1500 is designed on a mobile gantry architecture and on a steel/aluminium structure. This milling machine integrates guides by double prismatic rails with ball recirculation shoes on each of the axes and also a central ball screw diameter 25 mm with a thread of 10 mm in order to guarantee an amazing accuracy and robustness for a milling machine of this size.

The protection of axes and greasers on guide shoe and drive ball screw bushing allow to decrease the maintenance to its simplest expression and to guarantee smoothness reliability even with a intensive use.

The installation and bringing into service have been studied to be the simplest possible.

Moreover the mass-delivered tool sensor ensures easy tool changes and fast reliable machine zero point pick-up.

Lastly the CR40/1500 is the first milling machine created by Charlyrobot to be equipped by the new-born CNC controller called CNR3.

The logical monitor integrates a FPGA and a DSP running at 150Mhz.

These specifications allow to reach very short interpolation times which increase the dynamic qualities own to Charlyrobot milling machines.

Therefore the CR40/1500 is probably lead up to become the bench-mark equipment for sign makers, engravers, display and POS furniture manufacturers, packaging professions and for all industrial cutting applications. Data sheet

Charlyrobot launches 3D mini-milling Charly4U

Charlyrobot of France is launching its new generation of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) mini-milling machines, for compact 3D milling, called Charly4U. Charlyrobot has been a leading manufacturer of milling machines for more than 20 years. The company has local partners in the UK but is looking for distributors in the Nordic Region. Charlyrobot will be showcasing its technology at the Euromold trade show in Frankfurt in early December 2004.

Thanks to Charly4U, Charlyrobot is strengthening its leading position in the mini-milling machine market. With more than 700 units sold and distributed each year, Charly4U is fast becoming a manufacturer's reference and a logical choice in the field of compact CNC milling.

As the first machine in its industry segment to be based on a steel framework, the Charly4U provides excellent rigidity for the perfect machining of soft metals, such as aluminium or brass, as well as soft materials, such as plastics or resin. With a movement of 310mm x 220mm x 160mm, the Charly4U can be used for all 2D and 3D industrial applications in a range of areas, including cutting, engraving, re-machining, jewellery, modelling, electronics, moulds, prototypes, prototype tools, and industrial design, among others.

The new milling-machine developed by Charlyrobot is a multipurpose machine with a long list of options - high-frequency spindle 1.1Kw, engraving spindle with tracking nose, micro-lubrication, and servo-brushless drive. It is equipped with a standard tool sensor for easy, rapid and reliable origin positioning. Maintenance is reduced to its simplest form, with a suction connector on the 'Z' axis as well as built-in lubrication of ball screws and guide shoes.

Charly4U is economical, easy to use with fine-machining processes, and has an innovative design. The Charlyrobot range also includes an A2 format: the Charly2U with a movement of 600mm x 420mm x 280mm. Data sheet
